The Process
The first session normally involves getting to know each other, determining the goals and collaboratively deciding on the process forward. This type of therapy identifies the client's current functioning and incorporates psycho-education in the form of proven behavioural techniques and practical homework. The aim is to empower the client so that they become their own therapist.

Nina Smith
Cognitive Behavioural Therapist
I am a Psychology Lecturer (MSc Psych, UK) and psychotherapist who provides counselling for clients to gain new insights into their anxiety and make meaningful shifts.
The focus is on uncovering core beliefs, shifting those that no longer serve you and establishing behaviours that support your objectives. Increased tolerance, personal resilience and self-acceptance supports the process of navigating difficult life stresses.
